Last week, we had the pleasure of performing family-friendly science activities and adventures at three local community groups in Edinburgh – Craigmillar Library, Wester Hailes, and North Edinburgh.
We welcomed around 750 community members who had the opportunity to dive into the wonders of science. The event included a pop-up science show featuring exciting experiments, children also got the opportunity to explore the secret world of coral through art and build enormous dinosaurs from foam bones.
"My son loved the coke and mentos experiment and laughed so much!"
, About one of the science shows
"It's more affordable and easy to access when held in our community library"
By taking our world-class activities out of the city centre and into the community, we can engage with people who don’t usually attend our Festival or think that science is for them. A huge thank you to Pizza Geeks for donating 60 pizzas – their gift stole a “pizza” everyone’s hearts.
Community Engagement wouldn’t be possible without our community supporters: Baillie Gifford, Scottish Children’s Lottery, Community Fund, Scottish Government, Stafford Trust, our Catalysts and those who prefer to remain anonymous.
