We’ve been made aware that some authors have received emails from scammers impersonating Edinburgh Science staff, offering invitations to take part in the Edinburgh Science Festival. These emails can look convincing, and may result in requests for payment in return for a place in the Festival.

If you receive an email from Edinburgh Science, it’s important to know that:

• Official emails from Edinburgh Science will come from an @scifest.co.uk email address, never from an @gmail.com account. If you want to confirm that an email is genuine, or believe you’ve been sent a fraudulent email, please forward it on to marketing@scifest.co.uk.
• We do not charge speakers or authors to be part of an event
• There is no fee to propose an event as part of our Call for Events
