Step into the story with scientist and author Lucy, where tales come alive and budding scientists explore fizzing discoveries!

Join us for a lively, hands-on storytelling adventure with Maeve’s First Science Experiment! We’ll read the story aloud, act out the scenes, make predictions, and follow Maeve on her curious journey as she discovers the joys (and occasional messy surprises!) of science. This interactive storytime sparks imagination, curiosity, and problem-solving in children aged 5–7, while giving parents and carers ideas for supporting STEM learning at home.

Then it’s time to bring the story to life! Watch fizzing chaos unfold as we recreate Maeve’s bubbling experiment, and try your own colourful reactions using safe, non-toxic ingredients. Together, we’ll discover how curiosity, creativity, and teamwork turn many moments into exciting discoveries, proving that science is all about asking questions, experimenting, and learning from mistakes.

All children must be accompanied by an adult, and adults cannot participate without a child.
