Dallas Campbell
Dallas Campbell is British television presenter, author, podcast host, and actor, best known for presenting the popular science shows including Stargazing Live (BBC Two), The Gadget Show (Channel 5), Bang Goes the Theory (BBC One), The Sky at Night: Question Time (BBC Four), Supersized Earth (BBC One) and City in the Sky (BBC Two).
Dallas has presented some of the most ambitious landmark series across the BBC, such as City in the Sky with Dr Hannah Fry and Stargazing Live with Dara Ó Briain and Brian Cox, which included broadcasting astronaut Tim Peake’s historic live launch to the International Space Station and was nominated for a BAFTA. He has also appeared in several TV dramas including Slow Horses, The Crown and Rivals.
Off camera Dallas hosts the Patented podcast which explores the history of inventions, and the In-Orbit podcast series which looks at how new space technologies are wildly re-shaping our world.
Previous books include Ad Astra: An Illustrated Guide to Leaving the Planet explores the amazing history of human spaceflight. He has also contributed to the book Aliens: Is There Anyone Out There? edited by Jim Al Khalili, and his writing has graced the pages of publications including BBC Sky At Night, Science Focus, and The Guardian newspaper.
Dallas is on a mission to take science and technology out of the lab and into people’s lives!
In 2017 Dallas received the prestigious Sir Arthur Clarke Award for his work in popularising space science, history and education to a wide audience. He is also an Honorary Fellow of the British Science Association.
