Due to considerable repairs required to the lift in the City Art Centre, we’re unable to run our events in the venue.

Instead, we’re bringing some of our classic family hub workshops to the National Museum of Scotland part of our Science Festival Favourites programme.

Access to the workshops Dig Up a Dinosaur, Splat-tastic or CSI: Crime Scene Investigation are for children only, and adults do not require a ticket.

Adults do require a ticket for the family shows Mini-Medics: The Body Show and The Rocket Show.

Children must be accompanied by adults during their time at the Science Festival.

Accompanying adults must be present outside workshops for the duration – there will be a limited viewing area for parents and carers.

Each workshop and show is ticketed individually.

We have a number of free drop-in events taking place at the National Museum of Scotland during the Festival.

Tech Decoded [13–19 Apr] takes place in the National Museum of Scotland’s Hawthorndon Court, and explores technology from AI to coding through hands-on activities. Discover how the internet works and explore the science behind machine learning.

Our exhibition Science Under the Lens runs for the full Festival in the National Museum of Scotland’s Grand Gallery. Exploring the hidden history of science, children can enjoy hands-on activities that explore how light works and make their own scientific equiptment.
